Bio: Who am I? I'm not really sure. Right now, I'm a mother of 2, a wife, and a computer programmer. My job is lots of fun until I run out of things to do, and then I get bored real fast. I try to have enough patience to play with my kids at night. I'm breastfeeding my youngest daughter, and not sleeping much. I take pictures as often as possible, trying to hold onto the moments that I don't want to take for granted. My house is a mess and my to-do list never gets any shorter. Honestly, I don't really know what I'm doing. I'm just winging it.
My oldest daughter, Ally, turns 3 soon. I'm trying hard not to let her out-smart me, but most of the time I think she's winning. She talks constantly and amazes me by giving me new ways to look at common everyday things. Her first 2 years, we struggled with sleeping, but have now moved on to bigger and better power struggles, namely, eating.
My youngest daughter, Anya, is 6 months old. I'm not sure how that happened. They all say that children grow up too fast, but they forgot to mention that the second one does it even faster than the first one did. Anya usually sleeps, but is currently backsliding in that department. She and her sister have such different personalities that sometimes it's hard to imagine that they have the same genes.
I try not to talk about my husband much, because he drives me insane half the time. We've been together off and on since 1995 and have been married almost 5 years now. I love him to death, but sometimes I wish he understood me better. Most of my family (and his, but I consider them the same thing) reads this blog, so I try to leave the negative stuff out. There are lots of good things though. He is almost always better at explaining things to Ally. He is much more patient than I am with her.
So, who am I? The answer to the question changes every day and usually more often. In the simplest terms, in the most convenient definitions, I am... a brain... an athlete... a basket case... a princess... and a criminal. (And I like 80's movies.)
oh yeah, and for those of you wondering... ktjrdn is the wheel-of-fortune version of my maiden name - just my name without the vowels. It's what I had on my license plate on my cars in high school and has been my user name for just about everything for so long. You can call me Katie.
