what's that smell?
I figured out the problem Ally's been having sleeping. Lately, she usually wakes up around 2:30 or so and fusses and cries "I want Mommy" until she decides that I'm not going to save her and she comes looking for me. I get up, put her back in bed, and listen to her scream until she finally goes back to sleep in about an hour. Sometimes I have to pretend that I'm going to go to sleep in her bed even. Just out of curiosity, I didn't get up one night to put her back in her bed. The little shit climbed into mine, pushed me half off my pillow, curled up and proceeded to go to sleep. I'm not having that. She's 2 years old, and if she has lasted this long without sleeping with me, we're not starting it now. Specially not now that I can't sleep anyway, between heartburn and pissing all night. I took her back to bed under much protest.

Anyway, I know you're all going crazy with anticipation, wondering how I solved the mystery. Here's what I figured out:

Something has been crawling up into her mouth at night and dying! I swear, it's the only explanation for what I smell in there in the morning. And I don't blame her. That would probably disturb my sleep too. It took me a while to figure it out becuase I just thought it was good old run-of-the-mill halitosis, but have tried many different toothpastes, and brush her teeth multiple times a day (actually she does most of it, I just do spot checks. She's pretty good at it). Her breath never smells that bad during the day. But sometime in the middle of the night some animals are using her mouth as a burial ground. Now, I just need to figure out where they're coming from and how to stop them.

HMMM.....Where did I put those mouse traps?
